Enter a team

Relay For Life teams are made up of friends, family members and colleagues. Most teams have between 8 and 15 members who all work together to raise as much money as they can for Cancer Research UK.

What happens once you enter your team

Once you've registered as a team captain, you can invite your friends, family and colleagues to register as team members on the Cancer Research Relay for Life website or by phone.

When your team members have registered they will all receive a welcome pack containing:

  • Relay For Life T-shirt
  • fundraising planner
  • Candle of Hope dedication bags

Fundraising

Before the Relay, every team raises as much money as possible to support the work of Cancer Research UK. This year we are asking each team member to try to raise at least £200 for their Relay (just £17 a month over a year's fundraising).

The Relay itself

The event itself is a celebration of all the fundraising carried out throughout the year. It's a chance for everyone involved to recognise the important contribution they have made to help beat cancer.

Each Relay lasts from 12 - 24 hours, so most people camp out overnight. During the day the celebration is in full swing and a party takes place around the track, whilst team members take turns walking laps
